John, I sent you a PM.I have part of a box of Hornaday 250 gr rn. PM me an offer on 35 of them.
If it were me Chris I'd dub (shorten) those 250gr spitzer noses back to a .200" or so meplat. There ain't a bear in upstate New York that would know the difference between 245 ish grains and 250! I think performance would be similar.... Could always soak up some newspaper and compare them....

How about this as a substitute?
https://www.speer-ammo.com/bullets/rifle-bullets/hot-cor-rifle-bullets/358/358-220-hcfn-bullet
or as another substitute
http://hawkbullets.com/bullet-selection.html --- they have a .030 jacket round nosed 250 in .358
Not cheap, but if you only hunt with them, not too bad.
I have the same issue with my 7x57, Hornady discontinued their excellent 175 RN 7mm bullet. Fortunately,
I ran into a guy on eBay (back when they would still permit component bullets to be sold, the fascists) who
sold me 7 unopened boxes of them for a really reasonable price. More than a lifetime supply for me.
Bill
Midway has them on sale right now in limited quantities.
Hawk Bullets are a Whole nuther thang.SNIP...
Those Hawk's look like old school hunting bullets, I have considered them but gosh, the price! Not that I mind paying for quality, I do not.
... anybody have experience with Woodleigh's?
