I have had reasonable success with two 22 caliber cast bullets--the Lyman #225438 in 22 Hornet and RCBS 22-55-SP in 223 and 22-250. For a time, I had an NEI mould with two differing cavities--a 55 grain spire point and a 72 grain RN. The 55 grain casting did decent work, much like that of the RCBS SP. I could not get the 72 grain RN to shoot worth a cow flop at any speed, from 1400 to 2000 FPS in the 1-9" 223s. The slower twists in the 22-250s (1/12 and 1/14) weren't tried because I assumed they would be a waste of time and components after their behavior in 223--cartwheeling at worst, egg-shaped impacts in target paper and groups of about Improved Cylinder when run faster. I sold it to Bullshop some years back.
