At Brad's house

Oh, I meant some very specific neighbors. You aren't an issue at all.

No worries Brad, those folks won't be going anywhere, they haven't moved in seven generations. I think the first gen is buried somewhere along their back property line.

I got up this morning, looked at the thermometer outside, made coffee, and went back to bed. I have a good book to finish reading. 81 yesterday, 22 this morning at 7:30, you gotta be kidding me.

Rick, what are "snow shoes"??? Are those like Achilles' winged sandals?

We hit the road Saturday morning at 530 at a balmy 22 .....This after 65+ the last week lows in the 40s .
The damned Expedition froze up 175 miles out ...... That or a fuel regulator or fuel pump gave up . The high for the day , 29 after the freeze up at 5 . 5 hr waiting on a tow . Nah I'm still cheerful 40 mile tow/chauffeur service $89 room $150 100 mile ride for a rental ........ 50 in Vegas and a a very pleasant 31 as I write this passing exit Arizona 283 at Holbrook ........ Should have been out around Groom TX but whatever.
At least I can get excited freezing my brass off in a blind more than traveling in it .

dang..
my old scout got pretty good at freezing the fuel line after I changed the exhaust.
I rigged up an extra fuel line and a small gas tank under the hood so I could switch over to it in the cold weather.
I got some looks at the gas station when I would pop the hood and run the fuel hose in there.
got a couple of smart guy's commenting on fuel mileage a time or two. [and they weren't far wrong]

should have bought stock in the Heet company back then, I think I still have about 2 cases of the stuff left.

They who "know best" dump alcohol in our motor fuel now whether we want it or not. Too bad it's the wrong kind, and causes all sort of issues. Hope it was just a fuel pump or plugged filter and not a timing chain tensioner.

I had a 79' with a 392 , headers and the tank transmission . I really liked it .........Except that Dana 44 rear end and those flimsy drive lines ....... I twisted a front and broke a yoke on the rear . I had a rear flange shear off at the backing plate ,but it had a torch burn from a bearing change pre-me . I can't remember now if it was spiders of the ring gear that let go last . I suspect that the drive line and axle problems had more to do with the torque monster than my driving . I loved that Synchromesh granny gear too...... I could probably count the times me and old dog (Purdy) came home off the lake with ice still on our jackets and had to scrape the windshield to drive home ........ But it would be in the high 70s . Sure miss that one .

I have had a bunch of them.
part of our pasture looked like an IH graveyard at one time.
all but the 74 scout and the 71 pickup run and drove the 74 was partially being driven it was half of the 79 I daily drove and the 71 was missing the distributor which was in the back of the scout along with a fuel pump, an alternator, a couple of other spare parts, belts, and hoses.
I rebuilt the whole thing at 200-K and drove it for another 8-9 years.
it's sitting behind a buddy's house right now and still runs.
two of the trucks are in the next town over I still see them from time to time and the travelall has a plow on it now being used to plow half the town of Grace.
there was about a dozen pick-up's, the 2 travelall's, and 4 scouts out there at one time. [one was a 2 wheel drive scout with a convertible top and tuck and roll interior in bright red, it was our Parade ride]
I just couldn't let them go to the scrap yard.
