What happened to Cabela's employees, after Bass Pro's aggressive takeover, was a travesty., not to mention the town of Sydney.
This kind of an acquisition is never good for other than executives who are willing to relocate or able to sell their stock and move on. The hourly employees always loose. I saw it happen locally when Sears bought Orchard Supply Hardware -- 1991 or 1992?

Makes me want to empty my Cabela's shopping cart of those three scopes.

guess I better turn my sportsmans points in.
I was hoping to run them up until this whole shortage thing blew over.
that's what I done last time, and come out with some pretty good bargains on the gift card they sent me.

Well, crap! When Cabela's went over, I stopped buying canvas shirts and pants because Pro-Bass brought in the cheapest Chinese junk. Sportsman's Warehouse usually had a good selection of reloading stuff, including Redding and SAECO. Now it is will be Lee and Hornady playland.

I've given up on Sears. They closed mine back in July, next closet is 15mi. Thru SoCal traffic forget it. I was raised on Sears to. Never bought a Battery or tires anywhere else in My life. 45yrs at that one store.
School clothes every fall.

Let's look for a bright side.
Maybe, just maybe, a new small startup business will welcome lots of dissatisfied Bass Pro, AKA: Great American Outdoors Group, customers?

I'm sure they would.
I kinda like brick and mortar stores, and I support the smaller companies wherever I can.
right now Sportsman's carries a couple of small Idaho companies fishing products that I really like, and I have a pretty good stock of them on hand now, but I can see them going away when BP takes over.
I could always drive the three hours to their shop and pick up what I want [and fish the lake just up the road from them] but it's a lot more convenient to pick up 2-3 packs at a time when I'm in town.

I'd also really hate to see them have to go online only and deal with the shipping charges from a small family shop out in BFE Idaho just to stay open.
