That one the rabbits carry ......

Tularemia--first found in Tulare County CA, hence the name. I stopped shooting and hunting cottontails in the mid-1980s because of this illness, which remains rife in CA. I still strafe jackrabbits and let the coyotes have an easy meal.

Oh dear God, Condors can't catch that from eating raw rabbit can they?

One can only hope. Condor cuddling is one of my pet rants, being Sunday I'll just leave it on the shelf for now.

Won't hesitate to eat a rabbit that I had harvested. I'll take them only in winter and carefully examine the liver for white spots (dead giveaway of Tularemia) or any other abnormality. If I see worms, that bunny goes to the carrion eaters.
