2. Take a long gun and lots of friends with long guns.

Handguns are a poor substitute for a long gun, but we select handguns as self-defense tools out of necessity, not by choice. You cannot function in daily life while constantly holding a shotgun at port arms. You wouldn’t get much done.

We make decisions concerning handgun cartridge selection in an effort to stack the odds of success as much as possible in our favor. Even in that process we are forced to make compromises. We do the best we can when making those compromises.
