Does anyone know if Possum Hollow Bore Guides is still open?
Did he sell out to someone?
Tried e-mail twice but no answer.

Brownells/Sinclair carried Possum Hollow guides. That said I seem to remember hearing that he may have some health issues. It seems its getting harder to find bore guides lately. M Werks recently stopped making guides and Mike Lucas stopped for a bit but recently began making guides again. Funny how things go in cycles.

For guiding the cleaning rod thru the action/receiver into the rifle barrels bore. It helps keep the cleaning rod straight and from touching the lands. In some cases (mostly rimfires) it also keeps the cleaning rod from dragging on various action parts (mostly ejectors). Isn't Possum Hollow run by Paul or Pete Sinclair?

Sinclair International shows Possum Hollow Bore Guides in their online catalog. Whether those items are actually in stock......that's another question.

The mentions of Possum Hollow loosened the ol' rusty memory a bit. A few weeks ago, I was remembering there was company that made various lengths of drop tubes for RCBS Uniflow and Lyman 55 powder dispensers, but couldn't recall the name. Neither Possum Hollow nor Brownells/Sinclair's websites show drop tubes -- bore guides, yes. Oh, well, don't really need one, anyway.

I have a Stony point, mostly aluminum, model that is adaptable for different actions. Also have inexpensive MTM plastic ones that work just as well.

I have the possum hollow 30/30 neck trimmer, works fine, haven't used it for a long time. My cleaning rod is coated, not a problem.

I have a Kleen Bore Saf-T-Clad universal cleaning kit. Has a jointed 4 piece coated rod. Gets a lot of use for guns I can't use a bore guide. You can see wear on the coating............few spots are down to bare metal. I always use the supplied cone shaped muzzle protector. Better than a sharp stick in the eye, but clearly not foolproof.

Bore guide, I asked what it is and yet I have two, one for each end of the barrel. I just don’t use that term.

I have both Stony Point and an MTM plastic. Before that I made good use of a spent 20ga. shotgun shell with the primer pocket bored to accept the proper cleaning rod. It isn't brain surgery, all you need is something to hold the rod centered in the action to prevent undue bending.

someone used to make a bore guide that replaced the bolt.
you just slid it in place and turned the 'handle' down where the bolt handle would go.
it kept all the gunk out of the action pretty good.

Fiver, I have one of those. Hornady bought out Stony Point and now produces that tool. Another Hornady née Stony Point tool is used to determine where the bullet jams the rifling. I don’t know the name of either tool but I have them both.

Both the Stony Point and MTM protect the action from gunk. The Stoney point is more adjustable.

Both the MTM's and the Stony Point have that feature.

Possum Hollow used to make a great insert for the M1A that had an O-ring that sealed in the chamber. The bolt was released against it to hold it in place and it had a window for pouring in solvent. Kept liquid and brush spray out of the action.

Gave up.
Sent e-mail,
Told to call for required info.
Called 8 times over 3 days and no answer.
Sent another e-mail and got the same response.
Said forget it and ordered nylon and will make my own.
Don't know if just busy as heck or just don't care!
