Brass annealers

Don't anneal that much, just hold case head in fingers, rotate under torch flame and drop in h2o when fingers get warm. Neck changes color a tad when annealed. Tried dipping in lead, sucks. Even works for BO cases but I don't do pistol.

There is a setup that uses a Lee 10 lb lead furnace and molten salt to anneal . Not expensive.
Here is a link to that setup:

That was interesting Rocky, thanks for sharing it. I ended up ordering a 3 rpm turntable type motor ac powered so I can build something like a couple I saw in the videos with a pan mounted more vertical than horizontal. It’s a start... I know I don’t need one of the fancy ones but I’m kind of a tool junkie so I’m not going to rule out buying one but for now I’ll get something simple built and see how much I like it.

Get a cordless 3/8" drill and a 1/4" socket adapter. Buy a 1/2" deep socket and insert the case. Spin in the flame of a lp torch until you see the color change you want. Pull it out of the flame and invert it into a bucket of water. Repeat.

This works well in batches of a hundred or two.

I’ve played around with that method and it works fine. I like building things though, it’s the kid in me!

I did this for a long time before investing in the Bench Source Vertex. It worked for me.
