I saw a U tube video of a man doing a fast draw shooting himself in the leg. #1 rule of safety = finger off of trigger!!!!!!!!

Actors like Glenn Ford, Sammy Davis, Burt Lancaster, Gary Cooper and others had steel lined holsters so they wouldn't accidentaly set one off in their holster and burn a hole in their leg.

Lamar, I seriously doubt there was that much grey matter involved in that incident.

Smokeywolf,
I have a friend in college whose family had a ranch in west Texas, where we hunted and shot firearms.

He was 19 years old.

He had set up cans on a fence and was fast drawing and shooting the cans.

He was shooting a Ruger Blackhawk in 30 Carbine with full metal jackets.

Had one go off in his holster and blow dirt up between his legs.

Scared the crap out of him, but did seem to have done any damage.

As he was walking to the fence to set up the cans again, he noticed his right shoe was sloshing.

The bullet went in his thigh, passed within a 1/2" of his knee and came out his calf to blow up the dirt. Dr. said if he hadn't been in a crouch, he would have blown his lower leg off.

Didn't even know he was shot!

He's fine now, but he never tried fast drawing again.

Was a mental midget fast drawing with a Freedom Arms 454, blew quite an impressive hole through his leg. He then sued FA and won. Thus todays lawyer proof triggers on all FA revolvers.

Don't know what he based the lawsuit on but it must have been along the lines of FA should have known better than to sell such an idiot any forearm. Why can't I ever get on one these juries?

Yah Rick, I would love to be selected to be on a Jury! Would probably be booted
off in the selection process for being opinionated however.
