Bullet Storage

Did you ever try to pick up a 30 cal ammo can full of cast 7 MM 150 grain
bullets? I almost got a hernia so now only fill them 1/2 full.
Have one for each bullet I shoot except the 30XCB which I haven't shot yet.
Got them loaded but no range time yet due to Corono.

I gotta say most my stuff ends up in Folgers coffee cans.
And no I don’t want to hear from you coffee snobs about how much you hate Folgers....
And by the way, Busch Light is my beer of choice for all you craft beer guys.

I drink a couple of pots of Folgers a day, and it goes up in the winter. It's a good price not over roasted, and I don't have to figure out how to hold my little pinky out while drinking it.

This is coffee not bullet storage. Down to 20 cans, normally about 30 in stock. Had a kidney stone once and the Doctor told me to drink more water. Took his advice and drink lots of water, most has coffee mixed in.

As far a beer and whiskey goes, I practice for many years at drinking. I gave it a good run. But, a guy has to realize his limitations. I simply was not good at drinking, just could not get back up off the floor. So I quit. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

My beer of choice lately. ;)

Man CW the glare from those white legs is startling.
I used to on occasion wear shorts on the dock in Valdez on my down day. Alaskan's don't get their legs out in the sun much, so new meaning to the term "white legs". Well the City of Valdez wrote an Ordnance just for me so that the Harbor Monster could write me a ticket for scaring women and children when I had the audacity to wear shorts. True story.

Had to use some Charmin in spite of Mr. Whipple. Great stuff, only had to use 3 squares instead of 2 to get things done. And to this day I won't let 7up in the house since the uncola ads. Beer usually dies in the closet but it's gonna be Bud when I want a beer though I would gladly have a Berliner Kindl if offered one. Preferably with a young German lass serving it.

 Geez Mike, Whipple? All these years I thought it was Mr. Wimple.

Think I'll stick with Wimple and he can stick to the Charmin.

My reloading garret has an AKA--"The Land Of 1000 Coffee Cans". I have coffee cans and Enfamil cans that date from the Reagan Administration and my daughter Amanda's infancy--she is 37 now. The nominal 1# coffee cans when filled with dry castings (my usual storage method) weigh between 12# and 13#. The bullet count varies--#225438 full-up weighs more and has a LOT more units than my 45/70 bullet cans have. As a side note, filling a 1# coffee can with #225438 is a time-consuming enterprise from an Ideal single-cavity mould. It is now about 2/3 full, and that is likely a lifetime supply.

A 3 pound can full of 405-grain .45-70 bullets weighs 37 pounds.

Hahaha I was thinkin boolits. But I have brass to store too!!

I have a cabinet full of colored "blocks" that where baby whipes. They look like giant leggs blocks. Nearly shoe box sized. I use them for my processed brass. They stack beautifully and the parallel sides fit well on shelves. From 1991-2000 I worked in a mostly female shop. The owners wife and three others where out on maternity and all four where close and used the same whipes. All gave them to me!! ;)

I can't remember the last time I drank a beer, likely been more than a decade. Folger's is decent if you cold brew it, but I got hooked on Community coffee "it's good, though!" a long time ago and typically drink their chicory blend if I'm going to hot-brew it.

Most bullets go in cigar boxes my late FIL emptied with regularity, those that don't go in 5-gallon buckets. You know how much one of those full of .45-230s weigh?

yeah.
but I'm not gonna go pick it up and put it on the scale to verify.

I will tell you what is damn heavy, that's a 7 gallon bucket full of 125gr. 35 cal bullets.

A 5 gallon bucket heaped full will run 250# plus. That is with clean cast bullets, range scrap is more like 225# because they tend to take up more space due to odd shapes from expanded bullets, etc.

A five gallon bucket full of COWW will pull the handle straight if it doesn't come a part putting it in the truck. I figure 175 or so for wheel weights.

Don't drink alcohol, Drs advice 32yrs ago. Only Drs advice I've ever taken. I store my bullets in a bit of everything. 1lb coffee cans, mayo & PB jars, old commercial cast bullet boxes. Little square plastic boxes My Wife gets from the dollar store. You can get 300 #311252's in a Sierra 100ct .452-300 JHP box.

CW, that's a whole lotta PB.

My brass makes a transition. I get it in 5gal buckets. Where it stays till I need it. Then I pull a "gallon" or so sort clean and prep. Excess goes in those baby whipe boxes for next time.

i do have a couple of those huge pretzil barrel containers. That Ill keep large quantities of prepped brass in too.

I cut down 5&6gal buckets I use for lead. Ya cannot not even remotely fill them anyhow! Heck a full to the top bucket with Brass is heavier than I enjoy moving around!!! I square cut the bucket 8-9" then drill and install the handle again. MUCH HANDIER!! They stack the same too. I get buckets from hydraulic oil @ work. My wife is a baker so she gets all sizes of plastic buckets too. (Hers smell allot better too)
