Not a rifle, but I've been wanting one of these.
Today I bought it. In the link below , you'll see the 5 shot gun, however mine is the 8 shot model with the extended magazine , swivel studs fore and aft, and rifle sights.

https://www.fnamerica.com/products/shotguns/p12-pump-shotgun/

It is an FN Police , 12 Ga. Pump, 18 " barrel , 8 shot, 2 3/4 inch or 3 " shells. A fine shotgun.

I placed it on the hood of my car and took a quick photo :

Brad,

I don't even have a 12 ga. loader anymore.
Most likely, ( no more than I'll be shooting this BAD BOY ), I can just use factory 12 Ga. ammo.

Oh Ben, that just won't fly. A 12 Ga loader should be easy for an E-bay guru like you to find. A 12 ga slug mould and some wads and you are set.

I might have an extra 12-gauge Lee whackamole loader around here somewhere, you'd have to buy your own roll crimp bit for the drill press, though. I'll look, I think I eventually bought two of them hoping to get the crimp starter I needed.

In law enforcement circles, half a lifetime ago, a shotgun of this type was sometimes referred to as a "street sweeper"

Factory loaded 12ga buckshot and slug loads are brutal to shoot. Years ago I found Winchester (Foster slugs) to shoot best in my smooth 1100, and they were pretty inexpensive. Factory sabot loads for rifled barrels are ridiculously expensive.

Used shotshell presses can be found pretty inexpensively. I have an old, blue Pacific.

Now that would work ! !

Many thanks for your efforts Ian !

l am a firm believer in a shotgun as a defense weapon. A shotgun of any type in fact, backed up by a decent
hand gun. Grew up shooting slugs in NY, the only things allowed in NY at the time for deer. I also had additional
duty as a cross country prison chaser (taking prisoners to Navy prisons) and had to periodically had to qualify
with riot guns. Out to 30-35 yds double 00 buck is very effective in a cylinder bore gun. However, in and around a
house, would prefer smaller like maybe #4 buck, or #2's. I preferred a Mod 97Win or M37 Ithaca. Will be
interesting to see your reports on it.

This one has spent the last several yrs. of its life in the rack of a squad car. It is the " Real McCoy. "

I bought it used. As we all know, " Used very little , carried thousands of miles."
