First time forming my own brass. 577/450 from 24 Gauge brass. Guess if your going to do it jump in both feet first. Crimpled the first 3 trying. Pretty quick learner and good ratio for a beginner from my reading. Got to trim it do length n ready to go.

Before, after, and a 45-70 for comparison.

Nice.
Looks like an anneal was involved at some point.

Yep annealed them 3x actually during the sizing down to soften them up. You can really feel the difference when they work harden again. The vids I watched many do it just once some 2x I went for 3 taking my sweet ol time and many smaller pushes into the die.

Nice work! I was thinking the 24ga case straight up with BP and bullet could be fun, but then I recalled NOT liking recoil enough to pursue such. Maybe a .577 Snider would be tolerable.

Brian,
I'm very impressed with your technique! You use a lot of self control for a "young guy" Not something I see as typical now a days! I'm sure you will do well here!
Congratulations!

Aiming center bottom target going for center middle knowing she hits high, 13 on paper out of 15, 50 yards standing unsupported. Cant complain 130 year old rifle is far more accurate than me.

I just want to say that Those cartridges are Super cool! They are huge! I can't imaging lugging 50 of those things into battle!
My buddy Ed and I were in awe of this weapon! Not to mention the guy shooting it! Nice to see a young one appreciate History
Ed texted me after he got home when I sent him a photo. He said "today I heard , smelled and witnessed HISTORY!"
