The only black powder I’ve ever shot was from a flintlock but I’m curious about something…

You drop the powder with a 30 inch tube and then compress. I’m guessing you drop so the powder “settles in” better. Would tapping the cases do the same thing?

if you vibrated it long enough, but it takes like 3hrs. to load a case with the stuff as it is.

Don't see any reason why tapping wouldn't work. I've just done the drop tube thing. Fiver (aka the President of the Barbara Roufs fan club. Google her NHRA photos, put on eye protection first. It's all rated "G") is not too far off on how long it takes to load. I have figured out to employ my 550 to reduce the number of times the case has to be handled, I have it down to three. Then it only takes a little under 2 hours. For some they like to use over primer wads, under powder wads, lube cookies, raisins, (just seeing if you are still awake), which in turn increase the time up another hour and a half. I can load 60 rounds for a match in less than 90 min from an unprimed case to in the box.

I looked. Fiver has exquisite tastes in women. I make the motion that Fiver change his avatar again. Lord knows I appreciate Jungle Pam, and I appreciated Marilyn before her, but maybe it's time to consider a color pic of Rita?

Which ones are those ? Not that it will do me much good right away , I need to get the barrel turned . I'm mostly interested in the pointed one . I have the NOE version of the 458132 .

I'd hoped it was that other heavy pointy one that's like 550 ...... Oh well .
457658 is the SP
457125 is the RN
Just in case anyone else was wondering .

I'm moving towards a 45 Raptor "mag" I guess . I have the stock wood but I may go cool kids with an adapted solid aluminum bedding block thing and skip any real stock stuff ala' single shot tank rifle a full 2.500" 06' basic gets within striking distance of the same case volume as 45-70 , it's like 68/72 gr of water or something like that . I have an Axis donor .

Some big ole low drag subs , no data to work up , and viola' big fat soft quiet critter gitters with enough case capacity and pressure limits for a 458 WM light . Ya know just in case there's a zoo break and Tantor goes wild .
