Mulling over putting a Marlin 1895 45-70 back to work, one mould that I have is the venerable 457122. I heartily dislike the Lyman HP pin as it takes opposable thumbs. Looking at Erik Ohlen's "Hollow Point Bullet Mold Service " and have him do a Inset-Bar hollow point conversion with the Inset-Bar Extractor linkage option. I did look at MP Molds, but his molds are brass or aluminum...
This will be for deer hunting, maybe 1200 fps, terminal distance maybe 150 yds...
Any preferences for HP pin dimensions?
.140 diameter, .375 to .450 deep.
