Perhaps the most well recognized pilot of "The Greatest Generation" has passed.

Chuck Yeager broke mach I and mach II. Now he's broken the barrier between life and death. He was 97 years old. Seems he was not only blessed with great eyesight, but also pretty good health.

Godspeed to you General Yeager.

We lost a lot of good test pilots, in the early days of the Jet Age. General Yeager must have had angels in the cockpit alongside him.
Only glasses I ever saw fighter pilots wear were sunglasses.

I had just checked on him a while back when we lost Neil Armstrong and was happy to find he was still living. Very sad to see most of my still-living heros passing on in 2020, but what lives they lived.

Buzz Aldrin and Gene Kranz better be quick on their feet dodging the reaper for the rest of the month!
