My Contender just developed a problem, the ejector is missing the little ledge that pulls the case out of the chamber. Is this a big job to replace the ejector?
No, very easy.
Just use a very small roll pin punch. Not sure of size, been a while.
Just knock it through enough to let the ejector fall out.
Not sure who will have a replacement. ? Bellm,
I just spent a while on his website, didn't see any listed. I have looked several places, no joy. Now I'm thinking about trying to repair mine. Would only take a small build up with a welder and some file work.
2.325 total length. .197 wide at the top of the extractor, .192 at the bottom of the extractor. .190 wide at the front of the rail. This is a TC 44 Mag barrel.
( e Arthur brown company)
Has them, I tried to copy paste the page, but it went goofy. I had to delete a paragraph of nonsense.
Not sure if it's ok to that anyway.
OK I got one. PM your address "and I'll send it along", It ain't doing me any good just sitting in the drawer.
I measured the ejector from my 44 mag barrel and matched one up with it so it should do the job.
If you would rather have a blank, I have couple of those also, you would use it to make a custom ejector. You only need to finish the end for your particular caliber.
Paul, where does one order the blank extractors? I have a 41 mag that I shoot a bunch and it is starting to show quite a bit of wear and I have not been able to find any in 41 mag, well one on e-bay that they want way to much for... The idea of a blank that can be fitted to anything that is needed is kinda nice...
I am worried about breaking it as a user, but it seems that over time a little side wear is induced and I have a feeling that is what caused the wear on the case end. I lube my barrels with ultrafine graphite from the ag industry and it really helps prevent that side wear.
