I put a Leupold 3 X 9 X 40 scope on my CVA Break Open 30-06 Springfield rifle.
I loaded 50 rds of ammo.
8.0 grs. Of Bullseye ( That load of 8.0 of B'Eye has proven itself
in several of my 30-06 rifles )
165 gr. NOE RF gas check , sized .311"
Primed with Win. Large Pistol Primers.

My 11 yr. old grandson ,Trevor is doing the shooting at 50 yards.

Yep, you can bet on one thing for certain, when I was 11 yrs. old, I certainly couldn't shoot like that.

Great job Trevor. I have two of those rifles in Black powder form "Wolf"s. and a Scout2 in 44. mag. All shoot very well, but I have yet to shoot a group that look like those, with any of them.

Like Obi-wan Kenobi.....Ben you are a great teacher!
However you also have an excellent student!
That boy can shoot!
Folks, you got to keep in mind a break action single shot is probably the hardest rifle for target shooting to maintain tight groups because you must eject, load, and then re-bench the rifle for each shot! Trevor obviously has developed a great discipline

I still say, anyone who breaks into his house is going to be in for a BIG SURPRISE.

don't be tellin people about those Bergara's.
I like it when I mention to someone they should use one of their barrels and they turn their nose up at them.
it keeps the cost down for me.

If anyone does their " homework " on the internet, they will find out that Bergara barrels are excellent barrels.

I pretty much don’t hunt anymore. I need to put some cast Bullets through my Bergara ‘06

I have been palavering around for a while, wanting to get back into the 243 Game. I was VERY %^&*#ed that CZ stopped importing their nice Mauser 98-based 550-series rifles, maybe one of the Bergara variants would fill the bill. One of our local toy stores stocks A BUNCH of Bergara rifles, and they are reasonably priced.

looks almost just like mine.
except mine wears a Vortex scope and has a pouch wrapped around the butt stock.
it might even have a little mud or blood on it, and the blacking is getting worn on the edges.

the barrel ain't been cleaned since I got it, but I'd bet American money it'll still put 5 shots at or under an inch with my hunting load using home made jacketed bullets.

Here is another super accurate rifle, the T/C Venture , 30-06 bolt action rifle.

It has the " 5-R " rifling.
Factory guarantees 1" group @ 100 yards with " Premium ammo ".

I really like mine.

Ben,
Thanks for your timely post and posting those great results! Timely because my son turns 18 this Saturday and wants to buy his own gun with his money. Originally he was going to buy an Encore barrel for my action but then we came across this CVA rifle. He decided for the money, it was worth buying the entire gun instead of just the barrel and that is what he is doing. I ordered it already so it will be at the gun shop on his birthday and he can go buy it. For his birthday present, I bought him dies, bullet mold, sizer die and 50 rounds of brass. I did “jump the gun” and “tested” the bullet mold so he will have some to load when he gets the gun. They are already painted and sized so he can get to shoot it quicker.
After reading your review and seeing those groups, I’m really excited for him and anxious to see what his new gun can do. He wanted a 45-70 btw and that is what he’s getting.
