Dual Purpose Lube?

I know a few guys who are looking for a cast bullet lube that is suitable for smokeless and black powder use. I was thinking that perhaps a soap based lube without any petroleum based ingredients or additives might be the answer there. Perhaps soap, beexwax, castor oil, and what else? Would a mineral oil be appropriate for this as well?

What plant oils don't go rancid easily? That in place of the mineral oil would work pretty well.

Something like coconut oil? It'll sustain "medium" heat up to perhaps 450*.

Emmert's lube works for just about everything if you don't push it too fast or get it too hot before shooting.

Olive oil, jojoba oil, peanut oil, coconut fat, castor bean oil, and rapeseed ("Canola") oil can all take a good bit of heat and don't tend to go rancid very quickly. Hydrogenated oils are pretty stable too. Another good product is soy "wax" made from hydrogenated soybean oil and sold for making candles. Soy wax, beeswax, lanolin, and Canola makes a good all-around lube.

I've had acceptable results with pistols using Felix Lube.
I load .357, .44mag and .45colt with smokeless and I load .45colt for CAS in both revolvers and lever gun. Good enough for what I'm doing so far. I'm not saying it's the best, just sharing what I've been using.
