Yup I'm bored today so was wandering around and priced some components for a PID controller. If I could think of a possible use for a 4th unit I'd probably be ordering parts. $22.08 would have gotten me the PID, a TC, SSR and a heat sink shipped. I paid over twice that for my first PID alone! Would think with a bit of scrounging a guy could keep the costs to about $30 total.

4th? I have the parts for two more but, can't seem to get around to building them. The one on the pot is the only one I use. I do switch it back and forth to another pot and use it as a thermometer when smelting.

Mike W1, Can you give an updated list of parts for those that might want a list to build one. The old lists must be pretty stale by now.

I bought mine. I decided I wasn't interested in screwing around building one. Mine lives most of the time ont he pot but is essential in heat treating bullets as it guarantees a set temp and is repeatable.

Four? How many pots does a guy need?

This is what I spotted today. It's the Rex and I've had good luck with mine. And I only have 2 pots not 4 but the hot plate is PID controlled too. I move that one to the lube sizer when needed!
