If you're making knives or swords, it's well justified. Making bullets? Your money is better spent buying lead, alloy or new moulds.

I believe those Rockwell units are for measuring steel not lead. Different animal entirely.

Not entirely true. BHN can be a useful tool once you understand it's limits and use it in the proper perspective.

I could actually use the Rockwell tester if it runs the C scale, and that's not a bad price IF it is truly in good condition and has the stylus.

Rick the Rockwell hardness testers use a diamond for testing "C" scale hardness on steels and a Brinell ball to test Brinell scale on softer materials like bronze, aluminum and lead.

If the unit(s) don't include both the flat and "V" anvil, plus the test samples for calibration, you'd have to shop around for those. You need a spare diamond, the Brinell ball, calibration samples and the flat and "V" anvils to get pretty good use out of the tester.

One of the gun making books I have lists a hardness number for every single part, and they're all different. I was planning on using test files but a real tester would be much better.
