Free brass only paid postage

Met this gentlemen whose name is Jerry from SC on the NC Shooters Forum the other day that had some once fired .308 Win. brass. He was basically giving away the brass all you had to do was pay the postage for shipping it. I haven't counted all the brass as of yet but for my $15.05 USPS box I got somewhere around 250 pieces of FC 30-06 brass, around 150 pieces Black Hills MATCH .308 Win and last but not least, six 50 piece boxes of brand new Starline .308 Win. brass. I wasn't expecting what I got from Jerry as I thought all I was buying was once fired brass, I'm pretty humbled by Jerry's generosity.IMG_0001.JPG

Actually a couple years ago me and my shooting buddy paid a guy $200 for brand new Starline and PPU brass in about eight different calibers. We kept what we could use and sold off the rest at about 60 percent of retail cost and threw in shipping an still made enough money to pay for the original cost of the brass and kept the calibers we wanted at no out-of-pocket cost.

I gave my brother half of what I kept and this is what I ended up with.

It's all I have on hand for 45-70 .
I have a bunch in x39 also .
It's holding up pretty well .

PPU, NNY, same-same.
My Swede likes them both.

Mine too, 462. Very consistent, long-lasting, and accurate with jacketed bullets.

PPU brass seems to be thicker brass.
Formed some 7 62 Wilson Tactical from Lake City Brass and had no problems with neck sizes.
Form more with PPU Brass and the necks were too thick and had to be turned down.

The 45-70 is pretty thin , the Russian x39 was Berdan primed and converted boxer during the drought . It's been loaded about 6x in the 40-42kpsi range and sits loaded now . It seems to be of nominal dimensions but it's rifle has a lot of slop . I have some in 30-30 also but I don't think I've shot any of that .

Have to say, three on here have very recently been as generous to me! Jim/LR/RB! 270 brass for shipping, for my 7x57 Roller. You guys (collectively) are the best. This is my go to forum. Thanx all!
