Front Post sight for 3/8 dovetail

I noticed a number of Contender barrels that had Williams Streamlined ramps on them with a bead sight had the bead removed, leaving a post front sight.

Does anyone make dovetail mounted blade sights? Think of the undercut blades on a target pistol, straight sides, undercut or even serrated at the front.

Failing that, anyone know of a frugally priced donor front blade sight? Have Sieg X3, will travel...

if nothing else pops up.
the Rossi lever rifles have a straight front post.
they however have a dovetail that needs to be filed down to fit the American 3/8th's size.

the winchesters run the 3/8ths size though so someplace like Brownell's should have what you need.

Skinner Sights makes dovetail blades of numerous sizes

He also has a triangle file customized to file the base to size to fit the dovetail as well. Very handy mod

Andy is a great guy as well. If you have questions, their customer service is excellent as well.

I have used Skinner front sights, they are very nice and priced accordingly. The dovetail is a little oversize and needs to be trimmed to fit. The patridge style has a vertical serrated face. I used my bench mill and dovetail cutter to trim the dovetail on my last installation. Best to leave the last little bit to the file though, don't ask me how I know.

One of the best investments I ever made was safe edge, three corner dovetail file. I lives in a plastic tube in the machinist's box.

Very useful and a good storage method, exactly how mine is. I was probably two or three file strokes from a perfect fit before I made the last cut on the milling machine. Drat and Double Drat! I used brass shim stock and CA glue to get it firmly installed. Not elegant, interesting to see how it holds.

i had to use a doubled up soda can, and then when i got it where i wanted it i took a flat punch and whammed down both sides of the barrel.
i'm sure someone could get it back out if they wanted to, but it won't be me.
