FYI - April Tulsa Gun Show

There are some trappings of martial law to this course of events, for certain. No hotels in NV for a month means that varmint hunting might be off the schedule this year. Serial cuss words......
A tent camp hunt is more fun anyway!

Gas in WA is still $2.79 a gallon, but $.84 is tax. Nobody is worried about gas, but there are no more boxes of 9mm/.223 in town. An attorney friend was at one of the pawn shops and the gangbangers are on the sidewalk trying to buy ammo from the folks who bought it inside.

I work at a Jeep/Chrysler/GMC dealership. The news I got was from the inside, no idea what the media was hyping but evidently it's true if they already know about GM. We have through tomorrow at 2pm central to get our last orders in.
Thanks for the warning. We have a couple of fleets with GM and I'll place an order tomorrow to keep them going a bit longer. At least GM Express/Savannah vans are totally predictable about what parts are gonna break next.

Bright note. perused cpl Walmarts today. Shelves are getting restocked somewhat. I was somewhat surprised! Still out of a number of things - rice and bread about. But have been maintaining meat/saw eggs/fresh stock of easter hams (already in the pipeline, I am sure). I really expected the emptyness to last a week and get worse. so far, not. that is good.

It may come to that. Not real sure that State of NV can regulate county-authorized businesses. The state might get a class action suit that would bankrupt them into 2025. State retreated from that particular position rather quickly.

I was scheduled to go to South shore of Lake Winnipeg and do some snaring demos for the Manitoba Trappers Association April 2-4. Casino that was hosting it is closing and talk the border will close also. Was looking forward to that. Good bunch of folks.

I live in Detroit area, the big three will be shut down nation wide for at least 2 weeks, the UAW threatened/and or did walk out. I wonder who will be doing the "deep cleaning" of the plants.

I am still trying to figure out how a Gov can close inside restaurant dining... Assume/guess via health code regs? But still bogus to me. Also see where some Govs are trying to ban gun sales. (alcohol too, but that is NOT in the Constitution, nor legislated against after Katrina).

ALSO - the NICS system is CRASHED!!!! I am seeing from multiple FFLs that many denials, and the return date will be April 9th! This totally goes against the 3 day Fed law of no follow-up, FFL can release the gun. Last, hearing that call-in system is closed. e-system only. VERY interesting stuff indeed!

In good conscience, would a dealer release the gun to an individual he does not know? In today's society, there are too many downsides for doing so -- lose of license, lawsuits from both the individual and the government, fines and jail time. Just another example of the law of unintended consequences.

During a recent gun buying surge, I was talking to the owner of the local gun store, about the state's delay in approving my sister's SIG P238 purchase. He told me that state law says the DOJ has 30 days to make a decision. If the 30th day rolls round without a reply, it's left to the dealer's discretion to deliver the gun, or not. My sister's purchase was approved on the 27th day.
By the way, California uses the federal NICS system, though there is still the 10-day waiting period that can turn into 30-days.

We live under the Federal system, where the states have the ability to regulate everything the Federal government is not allowed to do. Now, the prime medical health officer is the one in the county, not the state and not the Feds. Closing restaurants for disease control is the same as closing it for rats poop in the kitchen. If the medical officer says to quarantine, the county sheriff will hold you in that situation at gun point. Been thru this several times as a firefighter/medic. The state provides scientific information and materials and personnel. Feds don't do anything other than shovel in money and provide higher level science. You really don't want the Feds running this operation.

Alcohol sales are up a little in WA but pot sales are up 40% this week. Much better for all those teachers to stay home stoned and munching rather than drunk and out on the street. Since we have new laws that you are required to have a metal health background check, the that office is closed until April, not an gun sales going on. But ammo in common calibers is getting scarce.

FWIW, Ric

Factory ammo is almost unobtanium around here. The hordes of change seemingly tired of stripping the grocery stores and turned their attentions to the gun shops. Check out Midways ammo situation right now, I've never seen anyone that big so thoroughly wiped out.

If it weren't for some lonely nights at home with just a credit card to keep me company, I'd be screwed for ammo right now

I have a new Accurate mould waiting at home. I am certain it will be well broken in by the end of day tomorrow.
Good thing I have many K 9 mm cases waiting to be loaded.
