As I have considerable knowledge and history with "that really high dollar one", just as I wouldn't touch them, pretty sure they also wouldn't touch us. Must be the one you recommended.

Been with one company for 15 years maybe more now, "we've seen a lot of stuff" . I've shopped a few times and had at least 3 companies ask what I had for coverage and what I was paying . Then tell me they wouldn't even run the numbers because the base start point was more than that . With the move to AR our insurance went down by a measure ,even with the heavy truck still listed , enough that the house coverage is free . It isn't but the autos are enough cheaper that there's like $10 difference from the Nv rates on the cars to the AR cars and the house .
I don't A , lizard breath , P , or the Emu guys getting even close .

I bought a year combined home/auto, the next year the coverage limit went up and the cost came down. Not much but down is so much better than up. Next year coverage went up again, price went up slightly on the auto. Renew again in about 3 months. I've had no issues with them but then I've had no claims either which would be the tell all. They were recommended to me by several locals. so far so good.

Same here, I pay less per year here for combined home/auto than I paid for auto in CA and that is with a decades long perfect driving record. Kinda like a little less for auto insurance and free home insurance.

While not saying your insurance company issues aren't worth a rant, think I must agree with Charles. You'll have to deal with much worse at some future moment in your life.

Anthem Blue Cross is refusing to pay for the 90 day rental of a cardiologist prescribed externally worn defibrillator for my wife because their gynecologist consultant says it's "investigative" technology.
That will be a $10,000 bill to me.

Law School 101: They can't put you in jail for owing money. We don't have debtors prisons in America. You can always bargain a debt down as well. Taking pennies on the dollar is more attractive to most folks than filing a law suit.

I have been with the same Automobile Association car insurance for 65 years. They sent me notice that since the Covid virus has resulting in my driving less, they are giving me a credit which reduces the cost of my premiums.
So they are not all bad.

Been getting cash back from auto insurance, for several years. EMC, until they got out of the residential market, more recently from Safeco.
