Big ole wasp nest over our shop truck in the shed,so yesterday morning it got blasted after pulling out for work....

.....fast fwd about 7 hrs.....

Get home, sweat soaked to the bone but, that grass is GOING to get mowed even if it kills me dang it. Fueled the hotrod tractor and fire it up,looking at the petrified bee remains on the rafters overhead.... get to mowing.

.....cpl hrs later.....

Pull back in to park and get a greeting from some wasps.WTH?.... seems I missed the wasp nest under the tractor fender. They apparently stayed in the shed while mowing, too hot? But,they were waiting, and are buzzing around looking to blame somebody when pulling back in.Let them settle in for dinner and blasted them an hour or so later.

Been stung by one of those, too. I was a little kid and got one on my neck in my Grandmother's back yard. Seems like it came from a Douglas Fir tree.
Caterpillar like critter, aren't they?
Don't really remember seeing those anymore. Had forgotten about that till you brought it up.
Memory is a funny thing. I must have blocked it. Seems like it hurt like a SOB.

Hit you hand with a 5# hammer to reduce the pain!! Daughter was cleaning out some bushes and fortunately saw several before she got hit. Kinda a triangular pillar with a tipped up tail. The one that got me was white (but there are various colors) and on a muberry tree. I thought I'd just flick the bug off with a finger. Wife was inside and didn't know where the blood curdling scream came from.
