Pay the shippings and they can be yours. I have a collection of Gun Digest, most years from early 60s to the 80s.

They are no longer welcome in my home. Too much stuff!

I can try to get you specific years, if they are still left.

A large FRB will certainly hold 4-5 , I would need to make sure.

This is not even my stuff! This was all my father in laws. I just don’t need more stuff to add to my own.

Will look at media mail, thank for the info

The P.O. media mail is indeed much cheaper. And . . . Extremely slow, like 4-5 times as long to get it there.

They're great books. I have all up into the 90's or 2000's. Lots of good reading.

I just threw away (recycled actually) a bunch of gun comic books. It's almost all online now anyway. Hard to do, I love books, but the info is out there and the space I freed up is more valuable to me. No library wanted any of them for the same reason. And their refusal wasn't because of the content, I tried to give away other non-gun related magazines and they didn't want any of them.

I filled a 65 gal recycling bin with old gun magazines- Rifle, Handloader, and Precision Shooting. I needed the space more than I need the clutter.

These Gun Digests will either go to a new home or be recycled, they won’t be here in another month.

I would like to find Precision Shooting, the Accurate Rifle and the Tactical Rifle back issues on the net.

Jeeze guys, really, if you have old books/magazines offer them here or at least on Ebay. I burned hundreds of old Shooting Times, G+A, Guns, etc and I regret it to this day. There is someone out there looking for that stuff, me included.

One mans clutter is another mans Holy Grail...

Selling stuff online is a pain in the ass. Listing, collecting payment, packing, going to the PO. I hate it.

These are worth very little to me. My time is worth far more.

Remember my comment about not being afflicted with nostalgia?

Flat rate boxes and envelopes are available for free and shipped for free directly from the USPS web-site, flat rate labels can be paid and printed directly from the USPS web-site, and the box/envelop placed on the front porch for pickup. Only standing in the post office line was, and will be, for mailing the guns. However, there is still much time involved with the packing. If I were still working I would've been able to package, label, and ship all my downsizing stuff in a timely manner.

Flat rate boxes are the only way to go.
Selling for someone else co placates it further- I have to keep track of what I spent on shipping and reduce the proceeds by that amount.
I have one job, don’t want another.

I've got a collection Gun Digest from the first year, 1944 I think, complete through 2012.
If anybody is interested, let me know.

I get it, you can't be bothered. Do as you wish, it's your stuff. My point was that there are people out there seeking the books and magazines. Just as we don't trash everything Shakespeare, Mark Twain or Hemmingway ever wrote just because it's old and we can't be bothered doesn't mean everyone else is so short sighted, or that they are willing to throw something away they spent their hard earned $ on. As someone who has tried to collect this stuff, I know the value and the trouble it is to find it.

All that stuff has value. If you want to put the effort into it, list it on Ebay. You'd be amazed what people will pay.

Bret, if anyone wants them they are here for the taking.

I am not destroying any knowledge. You see it as short sighted, I see it as not having a house full of stuff I don’t need. After cleaning up my in laws house and seeing how much they kept “just in case” my wife and I decided it was time for us to clean house.

My daughter will be relieved knowing she won’t be dealing with the same stuff in coming years.

I try to distinguish between the artifact and the knowledge contained therein.

I have a bunch of old comic books. They have value as an artifact, the knowledge contained therein is minimal.

I have a five shelf bookcase full of hardcover NRA book club books. Nicely bound and well made. The artifacts and the knowledge both have value.

Most magazines of informational value are online in many places and formats. The artifacts themselves have minimal value.

I would never throw away the first two. The third I will and have, lest I end up being the subject of a reality TV show.
