Most excellent group of pictures, but I didn't see a pic of his apprentice? AND if he doesn't have one, that's going to be the end of an era, certainly in your area. Where I grew up we had a smith that also did leather repair work, and the smell of his shop still evokes fantastic memories of my earliest times around firearms. When dad took us to town it was a special treat to go in his shop. Also had a Hardware store in town that had row after row of long guns racked up against one of his walls. Dad bought a "second hand" win model 12 that I have to this day and I will never sell it; has a center spot in my gun closet.

Must of been a little before my time Gary, or maybe the County Seat. Of course, none of my family were into guns so it might of just escaped my notice in those days.

Downtown Neody just East of Danny's building across the street. Was called Bodly (sp) Hardware. Man what a treat to go there and walk up and down the gun rack. Late 1950's.
