How well do you shoot offhand?

When I was young I could compete with Flintlock PA Long Rifles up to 50 yards! Was pretty good back then.

Never shoot modern rifles off hand at targets now. Always from the bench!
Pistols now with age: I can keep all shots on the 8.5 X11 paper the target is printed on Off hand at 25 yards!

10 years ago I could shoot pistols much better but those days are gone so no use whining about it!
It is what it is ...as long as I do not get discusted with my shooting!

All older folks have some lever of distal neuropathy. Numbness, shooting pain, weakness in the muscles are all common. Getting old is not for the fearful..

Shot my 357 mag S&W 19 wwith light load of Wad Cutters at 25 yards. Temps were 18 degrees and windy.... Down right miserable!
My fingers got painful after every 6 shots and I had to use my hand warmer for about 8 minutes each time to recover.
All in all for 50 shots I didn't do too bad at 25 yds except my hold changed so I ended up with two strung out groups of 2 to 3 inches...
But at least they were all connected!
Had to rest my My hands on the table because I was shaking too bad
Cold weather is not good for shooting revolvers! Fingers in pain just trying to load!
Good new was I was the only idiot at the range!

Sometimes you just have to go shoot no matter what the weather is.
I have been known to pull off the road in a rock pit and shoot out the window with my Ruger MK4 at empty shotgun shells left laying around by others.
A mans gotta do what a mans gotta do.

Tomorrow morning I entertained the thoughts of going out again since my workload is slowing... However say the forcast for 14 degs and change my mind. fingers on a revolver do not work well at that temp.
May try for the afternoon when it warms up to 27 deg

I use a pool noodle on the edge of the drivers side window.
the deluxe version is half a noodle duct taped on top of a whole noodle with a slit cut in it to slip over the windows edge.
it also doubles as a field bench for shooting ground squirrels.

Gary, Now that`s funny there.
I should have worded it differently.
I did have a guy shoot out my windshield years ago.
I was moving some heavy equipment and I had a guy move my pickup for me.
I had a 22 revolver setting in the seat.
He was aiming it out the windshield and pulled the trigger.
He said he didn`t think it was loaded.
Never leave a loaded gun around an idiot.
