I've had two Howa bolters (22-250 heavy barrel and 338 Win Mag sporter barrel). Both shot VERY well for me, but I got talked out of both during my trader/seller days. I'm still looking around for a 243 boltgun of some kind, and a Howa at the right price would make the cut without a second thought.

He's really coming along.
I've been thinking about a Howa 308 for some time, but really don't like the Hogue stocks. Should of picked up one of the barreled actions and put it in a McMillan before I retired. Toy money is more limited nowadays.

This one was purchased as a barreled action.
I did the stock, glass bedded with pillars , barrel free floated with a Timney trigger. A fine rifle.

The 308 Win. is my favorite rifle cartridge with the 7mm-08 & 7mm Mauser running a tie for second place in my personal rankings.

I've always been impressed with the quality of Howa firearms.
Ben, you did a fantastic job of putting that rifle together.

Was that a Boyd's stock Ben? How thick was it? When the boy got a 700 Mountain Rifle(early BDL type) and later a couple Kimbers, it ruined me for bulky stock profiles.
