NIB, Howa Sporter Rifle, 6.5 X 55 mm

I've always liked the 6.5X55 Swedish cartridge.
This should be a fine shooting rifle.

That looks like a little dandy! I've been looking good at the 6.5 creedmoor and the Howa is one of the ones I've looked at.

Looks a lot lighter than the military ones! Bet that it shoots cast bullets great! Was that for about the same price as an old swedish rifle, too?

That looks really good, Ben, I'm impressed. I've never looked at a Howa much less owned one, I wonder what the chamber and throat looks like?

The bridge-type scope mount should be very stable and help stiffen the receiver, I really like that even though it appears it will be a bit high.

Don't read the instructions, all they say is not to use reloads and not to use cast bullets and you'll put yer eye out etc. etc.

I've got one of these on the way.
The factory trigger was pretty " ratty ."

[KIDDING] Good call Ben, you need a fine trigger for good accuracy when looking down the top of the barrel to aim it at the target![/KIDDING]

So, whatcha got for optics? I see a camo'd scope with externally-adjustable turrets peeking out from behind a box on your bench there....

I have a nice Baush & Lomb 3200 3X9X50 with FireFly.

I'll probably put the B & L on the rifle.

I think you will like it Ben. I've got one in 7mm Magnum. No pillars on mine so I free floated the barrel and bedded the action. I was lucky on mine with the trigger. It turned into a sub MOA rifle with full throttle hunting loads. I'm liking the mini action in 222.
