hmm.
I would like it a lot more if they sold it without all the stuff he talks about as being selling points.
a plain stock, a plain free-float hand guard, no shell deflector, a cap instead of a muzzle brake.
blow back design I like, it allows cast bullets.
I would like a side charge handle and a last shot hold open though.
but the price doesn't look too bad.
I just took a look at Bud's. The 9mm version is about $120 more than a comparable 300BLK. Magazines for the .45 run $65+ for the extended 26 rounders vs $13 for 30 round magpuls for the .300BLK. I shoot cast only in my .300BLK ARs, but with GCs. I'll save the .45s for my Officer's ACP and the 625.
You're all missing my point. I would buy one in a heart beat, decked out as shown with lazers and flashlights. That's of course right after I win the Lottery tonight. What a fabulous play "toy".
No blowback .45s for me unless it's a Hi-Point. Not kidding, the HPs are a lot of fun and work really well. Drawbacks are magazine lack of capacity, terrible trigger, and no muzzle threads.
This one is a load of fun once you get it working right. Reliable lock back, DI gas system, uses HK USC magazines, standard lower with magwell adapter, and put whatever muzzle device you want on it that has a 1/2" hole and 5/8x24 threads:
While a conversation about the aesthetics of an AR-15 might be kind of silly on principle, it's interesting how each person has their own idea of what looks good to them. Personally, I like either a nice clean, lightweight "modern" AR or a more traditional one. The combination of an A2 stock and FF handguard just looks wrong to me even though it's comfy and practical. I like the A2 stock a lot, but it just looks weird without a GI gas block and a delta ring up front.
I'd like more of a monte carlo type stock with the scoped rifle.
that would really look a bit off, but it's comfort and alignment with the rifle that counts.
I don't admire mine too much but I do shoot it quite a bit when I take it out.
but then I also have spandex, duct tape, some safety pins and some foam rubber wrapped around the stock of my trap gun.
nobody at the club even mentions it now.
Who was it here who couldn't get one of those in 45ACP to shoot worth a hoot..?
A guy at one of my clubs has one..the cases throw a better group than the bullets..but he's having fun though..
That was mine. I was getting muzzle brake strikes and then it went to hell with cast bullets when I removed the brake. I'm still convinced that all my troubles were due to an over-zealous monkey putting my upper together, there were lots of problems with it and supposedly someone got "let go" about the time mine was built.
Been wanting to do a 45 acp AR for a while. I settled on an MPA Mac10 clone in carbine form. Super fun gun to shoot. Super reliable. Super heavy. Going to keep shooting that until the 45 acp AR's mature a bit. The 45acp carbines are just plain fun to shoot--and a natural host for a suppressor.
