I'm Hoarding Powder

I only live about 30 miles from town and they always have what I need (or want) so I don't keep much on hand myself and as the old saying goes, at my age I don't buy green bananas either. Now I can't go to the supply shop and they don't have what I want anyway so I'm hoarding a handful of 2400, about a quarter pound of Unique, a little less Bullseye and about a pound of HP38. I have found that a 358477 in a 38 special case with 4.5 grains HP38 can satisfy the itch pretty well though I do like to shoot .357s. I do have bullets running out my ears but that is something I can go out to the garage and do is this time of distancing.
Oh well, this to shall pass if I don't go nuts first! Think I'll go out to the garage and cast some more 358477s.

you could lower that HP-38 load down about 4-5 tenths and save some of it.
you could swing by and rummage through my stuff.
I think I still got some 231, you could have a pound or two, and I know I have both unique and 2400.

Thanks for the kind offer but I'll get by. Just belly aching for lack of something better to do.
Still trying to figure out if we are going to shoot this virus or beat it to death with a roll of toilet paper. Nothing makes sense to me any more.

I learned during the last shortage.
What he said.

I gave up on one pounders log ago. Primers by the 5K.

Drive on over to Bellevue and I can get you some Red Dot for that 38

You hav enough on hand for several thousand .38s, shoot it up because you can't take it with you.

I don't think of it as hording if you'll use it before it goes bad , Unique is a little sketchy here using that as a guide but half of it was gifted to me and it's just wrong to not use up a gift .

I have a pretty decent stock of powders, but it seems I always want to go back in time and retry some powder or another. For instance, I don't have any Unique right now. I do have Herco, 231, HP38, Promo (Red Dot), AA5744, WSF, WST, Clays, 2400, AA9, AA7, H110, WC820, and others. In other words, I have that class of powder bracketed- I can achieve Unique results in many different ways. However I'm feeling a bit nervous because I don't have any Unique, so I'll probably buy some this weekend. C'mon, it's not like its SR4756.

I got one pound of 4756 left.
it's good stuff in the 45 colt, but I could get along.

I got one pound too. And a pound of SR4759 too. I think I was going to try it in 45-70. I wonder how it would do in 458 SOCOM, probably not so good. My new 30-06 is nearly done and I was concerned about the lack of IMR4350 on line. Then I actually got up and went to look. one unopened lb. It's a start.

I think I have some issues rising to the top

First-world problems there, Bob. There are only about two dozen powders that work great in the '06.

Components weren't an issue, for me, during the last shortage. Won't be for the next one. Most used powders are purchased in eight pound jugs and the three different sized primers in 5K lots. Combining power and primers, in one order spreads the cost of Hazmat out. Only time I buy powder from LGS, is to try out something new to me.

I have managed to skirt around 4350 this long pretty good.
I did have that one bottle of accurate powder, it may have been on the recall?, it just acted weird [like it had a faster burn rate] so it got tossed on the front lawn.

I sneak up close to it with CFE-223 [which is a powder I really like] then jump over to RL-19 on the other side.

Fiver, I don't know where you live but I've got an extra pound of IMR4350 I'd give you until "good times" return.

I appreciate it.
but I'm positive the closest one to me is Jimbo, and he is like 180 miles away.

I'm not lacking for any powder in any way.
in the last few weeks I have looked at it on the shelf, had the money in hand, and just walked out because I didn't like the price.
my worse case scenario is running out of one powder and having to sub something else in for the next I dunno 5 years?
