Indoor range for next few days!

Brought in the brass monkey. Was 8 degrees at 7:00 a.m. and with wind chill down below zero, won't be doing the outdoor range for a couple of weeks. Indoor range is only 5-6 mi away, which is handy, and this weather encourages me to fill up as much empty brass as possible. Tend to consider the glass half full rather than half empty.

Paul, Same situation here. Snow blowing sideways for three days, now temperature down to single digits and wind at 10 knots. Reloading time.

Spring is right around the corner.

Just brought home 400 more feet of #1 white oak flooring. My casting room(not loading room) is or has been an unfinished BR upstairs for a few years. It's now getting finished up.

So,getting booted out of my own room?

Wifey "may" have slipped up though. She said we may move our BR upstairs.....and out of her mouth, said I could "have" our existing BR as a gun library. It ajoins the, used to be nursery....which is my loading room.

So,some nice built ins,and a few more rifles just to fill it up.

Your lucky there in the Banana belt. High here today is -7 and -27 last night. I've got an outdoor woodstove that is real hungry on days like this. Some wind today but it doesn't make much difference here in the woods, unless you get out on a big lake.

Not too bad here (inland southern California). What has been VERY nice is the frequent rain storms that have given light-to-moderate rainfall for a couple days--them a bit of clearing--more rainfall--and clear out again. Tomorrow's predicted rain will be the fifth such occurrence over the past 3 weeks, and my town is at almost 3X normal accumulation for the season date. Hoping the water "debt" now in its 7th year gets paid down or paid off this winter.

I shot at a indoor range in NC one year when we were on vacation. I bought some ammo to shoot my CCW gun. The mistake was just using some ear plugs from the shop with no muffs.

The muzzle blast were crazy. I just couldn't get used to being in the middle of loading a magazine and someone ripping a shot off the other side of the sheet metal that was dividing us. I remember jumping like crazy several times when the unexpected shots went off.

They just recently opened up a indoor range about 5 min from the refinery I work at. I haven't shot there but did notice when I checked it out it was full of tactical commando mall ninjas. So I'll probably try to steer clear of there for now.

The closest local indoor range advertises that you can't use handloads - which pretty much rules out a lot of shooting from me with a lot of my guns. Anything other than the most popular pistol calibers costs too much to shoot factory stuff. Or it just isn't available at all.

At large, whereabouts unknown.
Enough! I just put the electric blanket on the bed. I've been so sensitive to cold the last few years it's getting annoying. Four blankets aren't enough.

it's been snowing from the north for almost 3 straight day's now.
they sent the kids home from school and closed up much of the downtown shops, including the city/county buildings.
the wife said if the gets one more weather notice on her phone she is turning it off.

Trees are really popping now. Calling for -31 tonight. Suppose to be a balmy 12 degrees by Sunday. Might have to get out my swimming trunks.

South Ms. has had very few cold days so far this year. Supposed to get down in the mid to high 20's at night before the weeks out.
It was 73* Christmas day.
Weird weather here this year.

Been an exceptional winter so far snow accumulation wise. Don't think we have had
4" of measurable snow far. Cold though. If we don't get some decent measureable
snow (at least a couple of feet), and if we get a dry spring, we could be heading for
a drought summer.

Paul,
Funny snow cover this year. We have about 18" or better. Went to SD to hunt pheasant and go through Detroit lakes,Mn where they had a few inches of snow. Fargo had hardly any and when I got to Sisseton the casino was giving away rooms and meals to the residents because they had been out of power for two days due to the Christmas ice storm. Drove west through Hillhead country and everything was covered with a 1/2" of ice. Came out of the hills and was about 4" of snow with no crust at all. Talked to a buddy of mine in Bismarck today and he said they had so much snow the sloughs were all packed down and coyotes running around in the open.

Well I always thought I knew what a "Snow Drift " was..but I guess I was mistaking.....
Going from a post regarding indoor range shooting to a national snow report must be the correct definition of a "Snow Drift"...:)

We aren't suffering from a snow drift but if fiver would shut his front door he could keep his cold where it belongs. We have enough cold here so we are sending some surplus to Rick and Ben. Oddly I think Ben will get more snow from this than I did.
Sorry Ian, no snow for you.
