I've definitely converted one over to CAST ! !

My friend Jason ( who at one time only fired jacketed bullets ) loves cast bullets now. He shoots original 03 Springfield rifles. He fired three groups at 50 yards, 5 shots. 17.5 grs. of 2400, a SAECO # 315 HP, sized .310" with Wolf LR primers.

Last group is " 4 in 1 hole " and one " pulled " round.

Since these photos were taken ( 4 years ago ), he has his own casting equipment, about 6 or 7 moulds and is a " dyed in the wool caster" now ! !

Not a fluke is it ? ?

Ben, you did well. Converting a rifleman to cast is much harder than a pistol shooter. At least most wheelgunners are able to accept cast where most long gunners wouldn't dream of anything not jacketed in their rifles.

My poor stepson has been trying to educate his under sheriff that cast is not evil. His boss is, among other things in their department, their armourer. And has declared cast as something that belongs in the 19th century and has no place in the "modern " world. My boy was told that if he was found shooting lead in anything other than a muzzleloader he'd be suspended for a week! Unbelievable that such people exist huh?
