Just a "feeler" post - MEC 600 jr

"OK, OK, I'm going as fast as I don't want to go!"
Ok so some of you remember I had a fire in the shop back in August. I have decided to clean out some and thin the herd of supplies.

The Mec 600 Jr in 12 gauge was not burned but was on the floor and has some mild surface rust that I'll blame on that stupid water the fire department brought with them. Probably a disassemble and clean.

So I'm thinking about selling the press, 1200 or so primers, 4 or five bags of new wads, a bunch of once fired hulls and an unopened can of 700x by Dupont Hi Skor in one of those large square metal cans.

Also several 1 gallon coffee cans of shot from damaged shot shells (recovered from un-fired shells, not the range)

I really don't know what to ask and I really don't want to ship.

I guess if someone that is local to SOCAL was willing to offer me something that is not an insult and will pickup locally in the Antelope Valley . . . I would probably sell.

I guess if there is interest, I'll post pictures. I was thinking the whole thing is worth . . . . ??

Also, the primers and powder were not in the shop during the fire.

Any comments? Ideas? Do people still load 12 gauge?

I bought a bunch of decoys from a guy and for $60 more he threw in Grabber that needed a couple of parts . Under $100 I had a running steel compatible press , 2014 I guess .

They're about $250 new .........

I have a Size Master in 20 ga , the Grabber , 2 more 12 ga , a 16 ga in 650s , to go with a DL155 , another for parts and a Texan Mk IV that recently landed in my lap .

Offer the components for market or 150-200% of what you paid and throw in the press if a guy comes along and buys it all . Making sure you add $25-50 for the press to your starting price .
Feel good about 75-100 for the press but start it at 125 if you sell it separately .

I sold my MEC 20 gauge and 28 gauge reloaders on eBay last year for much more than I paid for them.

So I would guess that yes, people still reload for 12 gauge too. I know you stated that you don't want to fool with shipping, but on eBay the buyer pays for the shipping and you can always schedule UPS or Fedex to come to your house to pick up the shipment. I still had the original shipping boxes - so that made it much easier to pack for shipping.

I started my auctions at around $100 for each reloading machine. The buyers will run the auctions up to whatever price the market will support. I don't like starting auctions high, I would rather let the buyers decide what my equipment is worth.

We have a local shop that sells a lot of reloading equipment. They host a customer swap meet every few months. If you had something like that local, I bet your primers would disappear fast!

Sorry about your fire.

Thanks for the input. I don't want to do fleabay and try to get a ton. I would rather one of you guys in my local SOCAL area get it all for a decent price.

face to face would be best.

if i was near you i'd probably take everything but the press.
i mailed all of my MEC stuff off to a 4-H club down in Texas a few years back [everything but the 3-1/2" steel master]

BTW 700-X is a good handgun and rifle cast bullet powder, i shoot a lot of it in my 45 acp and 300 blackout.

If you were closer, I'd be real interested. I do load trap loads and 700X is the go-to for them and a lot of other things. Shot is real interesting too. If you decide to break some of this stuff up and ship, let me know.
