Lee NEW bullet sizing system

My 454 makes .454 , the 452 is just shy of .452 but I wanted it for core sizing paper patch for .458 , the 358 is just shy of .359 . One that was shy was the 323 which came in at exactly .323 which was bad for even a tight 8mm but is perfect for 32 Rem .
I think the rest of my sizers are from Buckshot as Lee didn't do 25,26,27 cal sizers or under size for PP cores .

I have a Lee 458 I'm actually hoping is as advertised as I'd like to have a .4585-8 for a .457 groove .

Been looking at the mechanics of this press. Design is innovative, is inexpensive for folks that want to load "faster". But it is a long way from design to actually making a tool that works and holds up. We will see.
It strikes me as the sort of thing that LEE doesn't do well. Everytime they get cute about something it seems to backfire somehow.

they are already redesigning it.
I guess they already broke a couple of the plastic parts and need to wait for some replacements.
the release date has been pushed back.
why they think they need to try using anything but metal is beyond me.

All they needed to do, was use the little "reloader" press as a basic design, flip it...and use the 7/8-14 threads with their standard push through dies.
It would have sold plenty good for just bullet sizing.

As the guy, in The Graduate said to Dustin Hoffman, "One word, plastics". Meaning, that is the future. Mr. Lee must have seen the movie, and took it to heart.

Ill be like other posters and wait and see.
I agree looks quick, but long skinny bullets wont cycle as short fat ones do.

Upside down sizing is pretty easy thing to mock up and use with a old single stage press.

I have loaded tens of thousands of rounds on an old RCBS Jr. I have about getting a Rock Chucker too but I really don’t see the need. The Jr is quicker and the only advantage the Rock Chucker would be for me would be resizing 308 and 30/06. I am sure a progressive would be great but I always think what else I could spend that amount of money on.

Just saw this thing tonight on their web page when I was looking for custom sizing die. Didn't quite pay attention/realize what it was, as I was looking for something else. Might be interesting, but yeah, wonder how it will hold up.

I have had mine for about a week now. I tried to size some 9mm and it was a nogo with the brass I had. They were 3x loaded and the rims were a little beat up. After the 5th time of ripping the rim off and sticking in the die I gave up on it. I think if the cases were lubed it would be ok.

Sizing bullets it works as advertised. But I will say it has not much leverage on the handle. Once I get my bullet feeder collator ordered it will be extremely fast to size bullets. The ammo Mike design can no longer use the ramp to flip bullets. The new version has two drop tubes. One the bullet is up and the other is down. You just have to pick how you want it to feed. The other tube empties into a bucket or box or whatever you have. I am also getting it so I can hook it up to my ABLP to drop the bullets base first.

Why do people use calipers to measure a bullets diameter instead of the right tool?
a micrometer.

That thing has a lot of flex, and maybe the bench does to.

All that flex and movement within the unit is a major turn off.
Love the idea of speedy bullet sizing. But needing proprietary tools. (MORE OF THEM) ain’t so appealing.
Couple videos I have seen don’t really make we wanna crack open the pocket book. Looks like another crap pot metals plastic LEE press to me.
I’ll pass at least for a while.

I’m not a LEE hater, I own and use a number of there items. But also I know what they are. Some things great. Some passable. Some they should never make & Some I would give to person I did not like.

I sized 305 bullets with a regular press-mounted push through die tonight in just under 18 minutes and didn't have to fill any tubes. The RCBS Ammomaster press makes short work of it and the box with pillow on my leg supports my left elbow so my shoulder doesn't get sore holding up the bullet-feeding hand.

If you watch the reloaders network some of the guys have utube accounts.

PC Empire has a challenge going thinking it ain’t so fast when ya remember ya still gotta load them tubes and it ain’t so smooth run in...

Maybe take a look see. Today with video reviews, Experience is NOT only derived from PERSONAL EXPERIENCES.
