Another one-and-only 1911; my 10mm Bear Wrench.

Dan Wesson Commander Classic Bobtail. Also has a .40 S&W barrel and spring to change calibers.

That's a lot of semi autos, for Montana. Do you have to conceal them when you go out so the cowboys don't point and snigger?
Of course not, I don't go out carrying all of them at the same time, silly! I don't have enough holsters!

I also live far enough away from Missoula aka Berkley East. On our rare trips down there I make a point of open carrying in the faint hope that one or two of them might think Montana is just too crazy for them and they're going back home to California.

BTW, even though Kimber calls Kalispell home, the most common handgun around here is the Gluck. Revolvers of any kind are noticeable only because you rarely see them. Even at the handgun range they're a minority.

I don't own a single action (for some reason I can't recall) but a few of the family vintage resolvers live here beside the herd of K frames:

it's not a glock so he is okay.

The Glock is alive and well in Montana. Not all Montanans are of fine tastes - after all, we finally just got rid of our Democrat governor, The Man Who Would Be President. Aren't enough transplanted Californians here (and New Jersey, Delaware, etc) to be able to use that for an excuse. Yet.

I keep forgetting Montana is trying to become the next Colorado, or maybe it's because I generally stay in the mid to eastern half of the state when I visit so I don't see it so much.
alas, we are heading that direction ''in the big city'' here too.

What you guys don’t see are all the kids from Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, and Utah that trickle into the Interstate 5 corridor looking for jobs. They are OK for the first five years as they go through the apprenticeship, all naive and cute. Then they get their heart broken, start drinking too much, and telling us how messed up our state is. How they miss it back home.

Yet they left home cause they didn’t want to max out at $17.00 dollars an hour.

Migration happens.

California's Central Coast Amid The Insanity
I've stated before that my soul resides in Western Montana. My '95 I heard all the tales of how Montanans disliked Californians, and their big money that was buying up all of Montana's land and erecting massive log homes and creating new ranches. Went there, regardless. Drove 1200 miles through the Bitterroots, up to Kalispell, West to Troy, then turned back East to Seeley Lake. Beautiful!
Anyway, in the process of stopping in at numerous reality joints it quickly became apparent that none of the agents and their hired help were native Montanans. Of the two agents we dealt with, to buy our Seeley Lake property, the listing agent was from Oakland and the selling agent was a New Yorker. The owners of both the RV campgrounds we stayed in were originally from Southern California.
In the end, though, it wasn't so much Californians they disliked, it was the hordes from Seattle.

In 1961 a Rem-Rand 1911A1 got me into handgun reloading and bullet casting. It was the only handgun I owned during my undergraduate college days and was pressed into service doing things it was not designed to do. I learned that the pistol and 45 ACP round has capabilities beyond the traditional uses. I have three now. Two Colts GMs and a Ruger LW Commander.
