I'm shooting offhand rifle more than ever. I'd love to have a 1712.
I had a dream to retire to a good sized piece of property and set up my own ranges. I have exceeded my expectations by far. I will try to shoot off hand as long as I am physically able, then switch to rest shooting at longer distances, then shorter distance, and finally, just talk about it.

I shoot standing because prone is hard on my neck, sitting is difficult & kneeling ain't gonna happen.

Prone, sitting, and kneeling will require a cherry-picker or tow truck in order to get back up. Kinda expensive. Extended periods of standing can be done if I can throw a hip onto something solid, benchrest is easiest for me these days.
