Major Weather Weirdness

I dunno bout that.
my FIL had a green polyester suit he insisted on wearing to everything until he couldn't zip or button it closed anymore, and he possibly got another 1-2 uses out of it after that.
I'd say he got his 29.95 out of it though.

I dunno Bill, they say everything old is new again, so put on the suit and some platform shoes and see if you aren't groovin' after all!

You got a grin out of me, Bret, but I haven't pulled that suit out of the closet in at least 30 years.
Not happening.

Hmm. Put it on eBay...
Makes me think of a line from a Billy Joel song...."When I wore a younger man's clothes..."

I was thinking of Bill in that suit and a picture of one of the guys from the 2.3 nanoseconds I watched of "Boogie Nights" flashed through my head. Better to err on the side of caution and leave that suit in the dark recesses of your closet and your memory!

Is there any website to sell / liquidate / get rid of old suits? 20 years ago, Mother-in-Law-to-be wedding-gifted me two suits she found at the resale shop. One of them has a patch on the breast pocket with a spiral-type design and a "Johnny Carson Collection" label. I wore it to Bible college classes with my Rush Limbaugh ties. Think it'd be worth anything?

Honestly, you can put anything on Ebay and chances are there is going to be someone out there having one of those, "OH MY GOSH!!! Look at THAT! I HAVE TO HAVE IT!!!!!" moments. Gaudy early 1960's sport coats get put under the "rockabilly" section and sell like hot cakes for example. Might give it a try. Gonna pay more than gifting it to Salvation Army.

In the 1970's we wore brown leathers on motorcycles.

One of my sons.... well,we all get kicks out of our Ebay antics... but #2 son may be the worst(best). Don't need his W2 info but,it's substantial so it isn't about the "need" for $$.... but he is an absolute lowballing dog on the bay. And SO proud of it....

He sells "stuff"..... he sold my 1974 brown leather suit for more than I paid for it?

He was the only son who took M/C ing serious. As such,he listened when I told him the gear was actually more important than the bike.... so he drops serious moolah on "pro-perf" Vanson, made in USA leathers. His wife, slammed her foot down right after a particular walk down an aisle...... "you will NOT be needing those leathers cause, the whole bike thing is D.O.N.E."!!

Funny thing is,they're my size....bwahaha.

To each his own choices....but,

I wouldn't have married any woman who had it in her constitution to do that sort of
"putting her foot down" nonsense. Or I'd be unmarrying in a couple of days if it was
a surprise change in attitude.

I lucked out, she wanted me for what I am and hasn't tried to change me. And we have
been happy for over 40 years.

Pistolero, never a dull moment around the ole estate haha. Him and his brother are both savants(and have the education to back it up).... if it hadn't been for guttin deer,bows,guns,sports.... well,I ain't going there. He was cherry picked, along with his brother.... one works in the tobacco industry, the other in the financial world. So,choices? Chit..... and that's only the tip of the iceberg.

Nice Vansons though.....

Areas by me that flooded this spring are flooding again. Gavin’s Point dam is increasing release this week and that won’t help.
We don’t need drought but this is becoming ridiculous.

We got all mowed except the half acre area which just stays wet. It will have to wait, it hasn't
been mowed once this year. Otherwise we have been over most of it twice, a few places
three times. Finally getting ahead of it.

I think we are well above triple the normal for this point in the year.
