More cheap shooting

Seems the cost of shooting ( if you can find reloading components ) just seems to be getting higher and higher.
Today I took an inexpensive ( $22.00 ) Lee 2 cavity aluminum 312-185 RN mould and removed the gas check shank in one of the cavities. I left the other cavity with the gas check shank.
Shooting .30 cal. rifles won't get much easier or cheaper than this.

I removed the g/c shank from a friend's Lee , .30 cal. mould a few yrs. ago.
Here is the 50 yard test target with the plain based bullets from his mould.
The rifle was a Ruger # 1, 30-06. the range was 50 yards, 5 shots.

Yes, I did, as I mentioned in the 1st post :

I have that mould, as well. With GC shank intact. The bullet shoots well in a lot of rifles! Maybe I’ll remove the shank one day, as well.

Hah! Here, hold my beer! For CHEAP shooting - 90 grn Lee 32 TL mold, ~2.5-3 grns powder in a 32 S&W L! Since I already have the components, cheaper (I think) than buying new 22 LR ammo! And more fun - since it is out a ~100 odd YO Colt or Smith!

I have a couple of 30 cal. rifles that like a full .302 on the nose.
Your step die works great, and gives a .3015 nose. Might work just as well.
Don't know until they are tried side by side in a test.

I have used the die in some rifles that like a .310 bullet. It worked great.
