Ben,
Great new photos! Thank You!
So it is aperture rear and post front!
If so that is darn good shooting! I cheat with my GEW with aperture rear and (Globe) Aperture Front sights (way not stock)
Sure wish I got into this earlier I sure would love to own a 1903 ( then I would stop converting all the 06 brass I find into 8x57!)

Yep: they said of the military rifles of WWI, The English built a Battle Rifle (303 Enfield),
and the Germans built a hunting rifle (M98 8x57), and the Americans built a target rifle
the 03 in 30-06. Think who ever came up with the statement hit it pretty well on the
head.

Love the old military rifles. My 16 yo has a love affair with the 03, which I too love to shoot. I think though, that my favorite might be the Trapdoor.

Love the pics of yours. One of the cleanest looking 03s I've seen. And, your marksmanship is to be commended. Fine shooting.

Very nice to see you posting.

I have no match quality milsurps, mine are all pretty much what the grunt
in the field carried. I think I am fond of them for that reason. They all have
dings, worn bluing, poor fininsh, etc. But they are still today battle worthy.

I have a couple of really beautiful rifles. Also have a model '76 Winchester that looks like it spent good portion of its life rattling around in the bottom of a wagon. I wouldn't let go of that '76 for love nor money.
