The 165a was made for a saami spec 308 win. I had Ross Shuler turn a remington 700 barrel to fit in a savage action. He chambered it to the tight end of 308win. This bullet was the result of that with the help from @fiver He also has the original mold so he can help if you need it. Well sort of. The original was casting a 0.298" nose. Tom made a new one no questions asked. It was the only mold I have ever heard of not getting what was asked for. Then it was exactly what I wanted.

It shot very well once I figured out how to cast, size and lube them right.

I started with the 168a but do the 168C now, no lube grooves and slightly smaller nose for PC. Works great for my AR10 308.

BOTH if those have proven very accurate in 35 guise for me.
The first is traditionally shaped. (See RCBS 35-200fn) Many companies have copy and all have been good!!
That second is very close to my 36-270c from accurate I picked ip while back. Its been very accurate from subsonic past 2300 fps for me.
Good luck but you wont need luck Tom makes nice molds.
