New addition to the family

what the hell everyone gets a nice dog or a cool dog.

I get the butthole of the dog world.
just because she didn't get to go to walmart today she removed all the stakes I have [well had] knocked in for the walkway forms.
then chewed up 2 of them and had the idiot Labrador half tied up in the string.
apparently that wasn't good enough because she stole the 2x4's I was using to space the pavers [never did find either one of them]
then she dug a couple of holes down through the pavers and along the outside edge where I had just back filled everything.

I think she was mad because she almost got to go, then Six decided she wanted to go and they got all wound up and woke the wife up and then she wanted to go.
so the dogs got kicked outside.

I don’t have a dog. Down to 2 cats but no dogs. And I still have a better dog than fiver.

fiver, you are just not well trained! The weather is nice, she could ride in the truck, but left her at home. You deserve everything you got!

if she goes the other one usually wants to go and then the stupid Chihuahua wants to go, or go lay on my bed upstairs I never know what that one is gonna do.
I have no problem taking Jax and Six if we are just going 1-2 places, and they don't have to sit in the truck too long, but the wife went and I have no idea where or what we will end up doing or going when she is there.

I can't count the times I've heard people say "ohh, that Chihuahua is sooooo cute, look how it trembles with excitement!" Um, nope...that little Mexican desert dog is SHIVERING because it's 70 degrees and it's freezing to death.

That is true. Here in the winter, the people from south of the border carry then around in their sweatshirts.

Mine is ok till it is 62 degrees. No shakes or nothin'. But at 62 degrees he starts shivering away, then he demands his coat. HE HAS A SPECIAL HOWL JUST FOR THAT. He is definitely my sons dog till he gets mad at him or my son is not home. Then he is mine.
Now if my sugar is off or I am upset, he knows and will not leave my side.
He will actually lay with his head on my leg, or walk beside me and whimper. Constantly looking up trying to make eye contact, till I get it started back under control.
He likes to roam if wife or kid tries to walk him,off leash outside. But if my sugar is high, he will walk with me no leash, constantly at 2 ft on my right, and never wander a bit, anywhere I walk to and all the way back in the house. Nobody trained him, he just knows and does.
He can tell if my sugar is getting too high or low, and when it is coming back under control before I can.

so 'today' Six figured out where the flasher switch in the truck is.
apparently the little flashing light and slight clicking noise in the middle of the dashboard is fascinating. [to a retarded Labrador]
I had to come out twice while I was in the hardware store and shut them off, seein as how she was the only one in the truck today, it narrowed down the suspect list from the last time it happened when they were both in there.

i can't even leave them on the dash.
Jax knows how to roll the windows up and down and likes to lock and unlock the doors.
I can lock the windows, but the door locks not so much, without the fob or the key I'd be locked out half the time.
she locked the truck the other day on her way out and my keys were in it since we were just stopping to unload some stuff, luckily we were at home and I could use my other set.
I really have to watch her, nobody seen her lock the doors either is the bad part.

Sounds like your pups are smarter then your letting on. Or one is smart and the other is a prankster. I keep a extra key for everything on a ring in my pocket. It never leaves my pocket.

Jax is one of the smartest dogs I have ever had. [second only to Five]
if she wasn't such a butthole to the rest of the world she'd be great to take everywhere.
she learned all the daughters dogs tricks in maybe a week just from watching them but with different commands.

Six is one of the shyest dogs I have ever seen, she will be 2 soon and still has a hard time going to the SIL to get petted.
she see's him like 3 maybe 4 days a week.
if any of the other dogs even growls when they are playing she just stops and walks away.
I find it weird to see her do that, she has a pedigree like 6 feet long and a super muscular athlete type frame but zero confidence.
she just bowls over the mastiff and Pitt mix half the time on accident and then grr,, nope we're done, if the cat makes a noise, nope were done being curios about that too.
it's hilarious to hear her bark she sounds like she weighs 200 lbs. and is all scary sounding but stops on the stairs and peeks around the corner of the railing if someone comes in the house.

Sounds like my Board Collie, except she only 35 pounds. Doesn't bole anybody over. Biscuit is one of the 3 dogs in my life that is smarter then a average person would ever consider a dog to be. We normally have 2 dogs, one older, and one younger. The old guy would teach the new one the ropes, like carp in the woods not in the yard and when there's a bear or some other critter be quite and come let me know.
Now that we are traveling more, one dog is it. Which is perfect for this timid dog. One she focuses on myself or Karyn where you can just whisper a command or more often, use had signals. It would be totally different if there was another dog to dominate her.

I might add she just turned 3. Great dog.
