I was dissatisfied with the wide ranging ejection pattern with my Gold Cup. Some cases at my feet, some over my head, some 20’ at 3 o’clock and everywhere in between.
I had adjusted the tension with no real change.
I decided it was time to try something different. With Cylinder and Slide being a short drive away and the reputation they have I decided to look at what they offer. For 35 bucks plus shipping I got their “ultimate extractor”. Blasphemy but I used a blued extractor on a stainless gun!
I adjusted the tension to what felt right and went to the range.
What a difference! Most cases within 10 feet of me. Pretty consistent in a 3 o’clock to 5 o’clock ejection pattern. In 200 rounds not a single failure to feed or extract.
Well worth the money. Their website says most extractors are made from tool steel, not spring steel. They use spring steel and all the bevels and corners are smoothed. They claim that it will hold tension far, far better than any other extractor on the market. This was a drop in and I had no problems at all.
