Maybe huh? Even cheaper than the original? PID on a Pro Melt with 25 pound capacity. Wondering if Lyman kinda kicked them in the butt to do this. Also wonder if the same Chinese company is making both.

Yep indeed, they put a lid on it. Don't know how well it may (or may not) fold back for a ladle caster but for bottom pouring it should help with air currents across the top of the melt.

I will stick with my existing RCBS pot and PID. I won't upgrade unless to a Magma 40 pounder.
Bet it is made in same plant as the Lyman

For the money when I upgrade I'm going all-in on a Magma. Until then my Lee does just fine, and I'm used to it after all these years.

Then you probably don't want to hear but I'll tell ya's anyway . . . My Magma was $400 and a few years later the PID was $100. They are a bit higher these days. How much more waiting is a good thing? Magma didn't yet offer a PID when I first bought the pot or I would have had it installed before shipping. For you guys that are waiting and waiting and waiting I can assure that when you take the plunge stuck in your head like a bad song, repeating over and over even in your sleep . . . What was I thinking? What did I wait for? You'll never get that tune out of your head. Yeah, they are that good.

By the same token though a few years after I bought my RCBS Pro Melt I was looking at them in a store kind of shocked thinking, my God they are now over a $100. So . . . . How many more price increases are ya's gonna wait on?

And it will cost half the price and generate twice the negative comments. And people will buy the heck out of them.
