No time to cast as I’m packing up to go to Mississippi for some deer hunting with a good friend and coworker. Top is for 357 maximum and bottom is for the 480 Ruger. Thanks Tom they look fantastic!

Those look awesome. Get 'em while you can, years from now when you can't, you won't be sorry about the ones you did.

A new mould from Tom is a wonderful thing. Like Ian said, buy em now because someday you won't be able to and will lament the decision.
I still regret not ever buying a mould from BRP when I could.

I wonder if we all invested in Tom's business there would be a chance he could purchase whatever it takes to make round nose bullets or at least some with smaller metplats... I could easily see a dozen new molds in my collection if he could..

Ian, for a mere $400 you can proudly display all your photo's currently being held hostage for ransom money.

I didn't know why at the time but I didn't trust them, didn't like the very idea and never put s single picture on there. Now I know why.

While I can modify a mould like that I would far prefer to have Tom make em that way from the get go. I trust his work more than I trust my own.

On the other hand I can appreciate that he doesn’t make mounds that he doesn’t feel he can make properly and profitably.

I just installed a new bar-fed CNC lathe dedicated solely to alignment pins and top punches (I can make "fitted" TPs now). This buys me a little time, which is the one thing that prevents me from expanding my cavity cutting capabilities. I'll probably use the time for sleep, though.

On a related note, the little time I have been able to spend with my LabRadar has taught me that cast bullet slump creates a ballistic coefficient which is far lower than we might expect from looking at static profile.
Although I appreciate the occasional need for slicker noses for reliable feeding, I'd sure love to see an accurate comparison of bullets with these slight nose alterations, showing the true resultant BCs.

I'd gladly provide a multi-cav rifle mold with a few .18" meplats and one larger meplat. Maybe Ian could minimally extend all but one of the .18s to smaller flat / round, and someone could use radar to calculate bc. Could also try varying alloy hardness to expose slump relativity.

I think Brad is the only one with a lab radar here.

I'm totally on board with trying to gain an understanding of slump and when-how it occurs.
I'm sure that is the real hold back in shooting naked lead at higher velocity's.
