Nothing new under the sun, I guess.

Playing with the blackout, I started thinking...(Yeah, there I go again). Why not use a full length 223 case?
So, I ran a few into the sizer die to see what I ended up with. Using the Lee 312 155 bullet seated to the neck of the case and still staying with a col that fit in the magazine, then filling the cases to the neck with 110, since I had it in the measure, I came up with a 31% increase in capacity.
At this point, I'm feeling like a wildcat genius. 30-30 ballistics with cheap brass in an ar15 without the feeding problems of the 7.62x39. A quick web search turned up the 30 apache.
So much for changing the world!

30 WT is nearly that as well. You can make the case longer to hold more powder, but you then don't have enough room for a heavy enough bullet to make good use of it. The WT is a good compromise, but not for subsonic, suppressed work with 220+gr. bullets.

My first thoughts were about a slightly longer neck to better support a cb. Since I don't have a suppressor, I started thinking about better velocities. Since I already had 6.5 tcu cases formed, I necked those up. I searched 30 tcu and came up with the disappointment that while reinventing the wheel, I'd come up with a less round version.

don't feel bad.
I just had a guy tell me all about his 30X57 idea.
when I told him I have one and 2 other drawings for other versions he told me I didn't have his [what?]
30 caliber 57mm.
he also couldn't understand how my 7 x 57 ICL had more case capacity than a necked up Ackley.
so I asked him which Ackley there are only 5 versions of the round.
yeah.........................
there is only so many directions the case can go, and another grain of case capacity more or less is meaningless.

Never did get around to figuring out why the black out was cut down .556 case. Why didnt they just neck it up? One of the reason why the .277 wolverine has my eye. Case conversion is easier and i have .277 bullets. I want one so bad.

the BO is supposed to be throwing 240gr bullets at sub sonic speeds through a 1-7 twist barrel, and a suppressor.
it's meant for close in support [like taking out the guards/dogs around a drug lords compound at 0:330 am]

Not what you fellows are talking about, but the 224 Valkyrie got my attention for a 224 on an AR 15. Just read a report on it and it shot a .88 group with the L O N G Cruise Missile 90 and it's stated that it stays with and almost beats the the 6.5 Creedmore at 1000 yards. Shoots flatter too. So what's the hula balu about a 7 twist won't give you groups at 1000 yards? Huh? Huh?
