Overdue Introduction

Found an answer to the question!

As obvious as it seems to ask the manufacturer, my luck in the past decade or two has been that if you do get an answer, you get an answer to a question you didn't ask. Maybe I'm cynical, but it just seems to get worse by the year.

I e-mailed Williams with questions about a front sight base and explained what I was trying to achieve, thinking it was a long shot, but I got a reply very quickly by a gentleman named Alex Sivil. He actually answered the questions I asked and in a very detailed, professional and polite manner. He even mentioned that the distance from the bottom of the Williams FP-T/C to the center of its aperture will be between .4" and .45" in the range of 1/4 to 1/3 the way up in elevation. I didn't ask that one but he was onto me and included everything I needed.

Like I said, I know it would seem obvious to ask the manufacturer, but I've fallen out of that habit out of frustration. I have to remind myself that "gun companies" aren't phone companies, insurance companies, home improvement centers,.....

I almost always go straight to the manufacturer for stuff.
they might send you to someone else to make the purchase but they generally got someone there that has a clue about what they make.
