.401 WINCHESTER SELF-LOADING

This is another of the autoloading series adapted only to Winchester rifles and is a member of the same family as the .351. It is by far the best of the Winchester autoloading numbers, however, and is an excellent cartridge for deer and other thin skinned medium-sized game. In handloading, one must, as in other autoloading calibers, bear in mind that there can be but very little variation from the factory standard if the action is to function properly and safely.

Sorry, the tableized version will not gracefully dump into the forum.

What Ian said. Not to be cantankerous, but if I wanted or needed 401 WSL
data, I would know where to find it.

I enjoy the older data and stuff.
it might not seem like much to many but it isn't easy to see where your going without an understanding of where you come from.
I like to try the older loads in the older guns with a bit of modern knowledge thrown in.

I'm working on some stuff for the 351 WSL.
I could just shoot the factory box of 49 I have and compare it to my loads, or I could look at the loads from yesteryear and see what they already worked out with a little help from the factory and work within their guidelines.
