Press Light

Below is my version of a light for my press, just using what I have on hand. I'm not quite satisfied with the aim yet, but I have to make a compromise to keep it out of the way of Lee's big plastic piece under the shell holder and their priming system. I'm thinking of making a bracket and experimenting with other locations. I have to work around that rod that actuates the turret, though. The way it is, I can at least see into short pistol cases and verify a charge of powder was actually thrown. The light itself is a gooseneck USB laptop light. The power supply is a charger that came with the last cell phone battery I bought.

I used a 3 LED 12v strip w/adhesive sold on fleabay, to light up my Lee classic turret press.

You need a 12v DC power source. I used a 12v DC rated plug-in transformers. I have a bunch of those laying around, as they are used on chargers and other electronic stuff, but be sure to look at the ratings, because they are not all 12v. Also, these plug-in transformers can also be found at Goodwill type stores for about a buck.

Some great ideas in this thread.

I requisitioned a goose-neck lamp formerly assigned to living room duty at our previous house, and it now helps A LOT with reloading--gun cleaning--and (eventually) bullet casting duties.

I was never "at ease" running my Square Deal, light or no light. Sold it to pay bills and am really enjoying priming on my old cast aluminum Lee primer and loading single stage.
But those lights are FANCY!
Real nice!
